We really like the grey coloring on this figure. They grey has a slight sparkle to it – so the coloring really pops. Bright white belly is highlighted by black fin tips. Black is only on the underside of the fins and on the top tip of the tail. Overall coloring is outstanding. We also really like the head on this figure. Scalloping on the front edge adds a level of detail. Head is also wider – relative to the other figures verses the body width. Eyes on the side of the head clearly visible and look alert. Mouth on the underside is open and in the middle of the pack in terms of details. Gills on the side of the body are well formed. Overall our favorite Hammerhead Shark figure.
This is the darkest grey of the Hammerhead Shark figures. Consistent / solid coloring on the back blends into an off-white belly, with black tips on the underside of the fins. Subtle scalloping on the front of the head. Eyes stand out with black pupils on white background. Nice looking gills on the side of the body. Body is smaller than the Papo figure. Mouth is open showing a double row of teeth on the upper and lower jaw. This is a very nice model from Schleich.
This model has a couple of very unique characteristics. First, this figure has a glossy, shiny grey paint coloring. White belly is also shiny, but not as glossy as the grey back. Second, this figure has the most scalloped head of any figure – not just the front edge, but also the scallops continue across the top of the head. Head is narrow relative to the body size. Gills are present but of low relief / texture. No black on the fin tips. Shiny paint is likely the most durable and would stand up better to heavy play.
Safari Ltd. currently offers three Hammerhead Shark models. This is our favorite of the 3 Safari Ltd. models. Distinct coloring is tan and not the typical grey coloring. Fins have texture / ridges on them including the back fin. This is a rare detail. All black eyes pop off the tan head coloring. Overall a nice figure from Safari Ltd.
Ironically, this figure is called a ”Baby” Hammerhead Shark, but since it is part of the Safari Ltd. Incredible Creatures line, is actually larger / as large as most of the “adult” Hammerhead figures. Distinct feature is the brown coloring. Really distinguishes the figure from the other figures. Nice curve to the body of the figure. Gills are well defined with slight grooving on the fins. From the top, figure looks good, mouth on the underside is goofy looking. The mouth shape is the biggest drawback of this figure.
