Otters are aquatic mammals. Otters are well known for their playful nature, and many species are highly social, living in groups of up to 12 individuals.

Otters have a sleek, streamlined body, allowing them to swim efficiently, and webbed feet, which help them to navigate swiftly through the water. They have thick fur, which helps to keep them warm in cold climates, and an extra layer of fat, known as blubber, which provides them with insulation. Otters are carnivorous, and feed on a variety of aquatic animals, such as fish, crabs, and shellfish.
