Schleich Female Giraffe #14750 Review:

The figure is well-made and captures the essence of a giraffe beautifully. The slight turn of the head and the nice wrinkles at the bottom of the neck give it a lifelike appearance.

The spots on the figure are a solid brown color. The mane is also brown so blends in with the spots. We would have liked to see more color variety in the figure. Some figures have different color manes which stand out more.

Makes a good companion to the Schleich Male Giraffe. Male boy is slightly larger than the female body. The Female is standing straight / tall, the Male neck is slightly extended - thus the figures turn out to be about the same height.

Female Giraffe Information:

The female giraffe, also known as a cow, is a magnificent animal found in the savannas and grasslands of Africa. It is one of the tallest mammals in the world, standing up to 18 feet tall and weighing up to 1,750 pounds. The female giraffe is slightly smaller than the male giraffe and has a more slender neck.

The female giraffe is a herbivore, and its diet consists of leaves, flowers, and fruits from trees, mainly acacia trees. It has a long, prehensile tongue that is about 18 inches long and allows it to reach leaves and twigs that are out of reach for other herbivores.

Female giraffes are social animals and live in herds consisting of 10 to 20 individuals. They form strong bonds with their offspring and other females in the herd. Females give birth to a single calf after a gestation period of 14-15 months. The calf is born already 6 feet tall and weighs around 150 pounds.
