Safari has done a wonderful job making this little replica look so life-like. With a copper base paint washed with a green paint to fill the crevices and then accented with white stripes on the fins and shell, this is a superbly painted figure. Overall an attractive figure well painted and textured.

Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtle Information:

Kemp's ridley sea turtles (Lepidochelys kempii) are a critically endangered species of sea turtle that is found primarily in the Gulf of Mexico, but also along the Atlantic coast of North America. They are the smallest of the sea turtles, reaching lengths of up to 2.5 feet (75 cm) and weighing up to 100 pounds (45 kg).

Kemp's ridley turtles are known for their distinctive triangular-shaped heads and grayish-green coloration. They are also known for their unique nesting behavior, called an "arribada", where hundreds or thousands of female turtles come ashore at the same time to lay their eggs in a synchronized fashion.

Kemp's ridley turtles face a number of threats, including habitat loss, accidental capture in fishing gear, and hunting for their meat and eggs. Conservation efforts are underway to protect and restore the population of these turtles, including efforts to reduce bycatch in fishing gear and to protect nesting beaches.
