Utahraptor is a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period, around 126 to 110 million years ago. It was a large, carnivorous dinosaur belonging to the family Dromaeosauridae, which is commonly referred to as "raptors."
Utahraptor is known for its relatively large size compared to other raptors. It could reach lengths of around 18 feet (5.5 meters) or more and may have weighed several hundred kilograms. It had long, sickle-shaped claws on its feet, which it likely used for hunting and slashing at its prey.
The discovery of Utahraptor has contributed to our understanding of the diversity of dromaeosaurid dinosaurs and their role in the prehistoric ecosystems of the Early Cretaceous. It was an agile predator that likely hunted small to medium-sized prey.
