Product Highlights:
Selected as the best Pteranodon figure in 2022. While some of the other figures have better specific features, we love the pose on this figure. Figure is unique in that it doesn’t lay flat. Figure is molded so that it balances on its bent wingtips and its feet. Great pose that looks like it is in flight. Most other Pteranodon toys lay flat – hiding most of their details. Figure is overall dark brown with orange-ish highlights. Wings are semi-translucent. Feet are swept back as if the figure is flying. Toes are curled and look like they could be grabbing something. Head and cranial crest are a little simplistic. Inside of mouth is a undistinguished pink. Manufacturer picture shows white undersides of wings - in reality - entire wing is solid brown.
Thin arms and gaunt features create a haunting looking model. Technically inaccurate in that figure has teeth in its mouth.
Size: Papo Pteranodon #55006 measures: 9.25” W " 3.1” L.
Product Highlights:
Quirky but outstanding figure from Papo. The figure has thin (skeleton like) arms supporting its wings. The face is also thin and gaunt looking. Wings are a thinner material than most models and thus can be bent / curled (although they generally revert bask to their original shape). Head is also very distinct with thin features. Bright yellow eye really pops off the head. This figure has mini rows of teeth - according to most records, the Pteranodon did not have teeth – rather the beak was like a birds. We really love this figure from Papo. Worth serious consideration for your collection.
Safari Ltd. offers 2 Pteranodon models. This is the larger of the models. Unique upright pose resting on hands and feet. Vibrant coloring on the head.
Size: Safari Ltd. - Pteranodon measures: Hand to Hand = 3.75” W - Back foot to front foot = 3”, Floor to crest = 3.25” T
Product Highlights:
Distinct in that figure is not in a flying position, but rather is on its hands (not wingtips) and feet. Looks like it could be crawling towards is prey. It is rare to find a Pteranodon is this pose. Captivating figure overall. Besides the pose, the next feature you notice is the vibrant head colors. Bright orange beak looks great but is upstaged by the striped cranial crest. One of the best looking head sculpts on any figure. Great figure – definitely worth consideration for adding to your prehistoric figure collection.
Size: Schleich Pteranodon measures: Wingspan = 9” W, Back foot to front beak = 5.75” L
Product Highlights:
Vibrant red wings distinguish this figure. Huge beak blends back into a large cranial crest. Cartoonish looking face vaguely looks like its smiling/grinning. First noticed is the vibrant red colored wings. Wings are stiff so figure rests on its wingtips and feet. Feet trail the figure and thus looks like the figure is flying. Beak is a bright yellow / orange and thus contrasts with the red wings. Beak is long – 2 inches – and with elongated crest gives illusion of a large head. Good figure from Schleich - Great choice for a child that loves bright colors.
Size: CollectA Pteranodon measures: Wingpan = 6.1” wide, Toes to Beak Tip = 3.5” Long

Collecta offers 3 Pteranodon models. This is the smallest model. Model is a good reproduction with accurate features. Orange with brown highlights and shading. This is a simple but nice figure. Orange paint is well accented with brown highlights. Good flying pose. Overall just a solid (but unremarkable model). A good choice for your collection at this price.
