Exceeded my expectations
Looks better than the pictures. Stands well and the colors are awesome.
This model of the striking Meraxes, with its contrasting colors and stripes, looks stunning and deadly with its huge teeth and claws. Overall a great model.
PNSO Mungo the Meraxes measures: 11.8" L x 1.7" W x 4.1" T.
The stubby arms and massive foot claws of this model are awesome. What I reall like about it however, is the blue and purple tint with a light grey hide, that is painted with awesome jagged stripes. The head and feet are darkest on the figure and very well detailed . The articulated jaw opens and closes. An art poster is included with an informational booklet and clear plasic stand. Which will be required for this figure to stand, as it barely balances on its own. Without the stand any bump to the table will knock it over.
Meraxes is a genus of carcharodontosaurid theropod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous Huincul Formation of Argentine Patagonia. Meraxes was first described in 2021 based on a partial skeleton, including vertebrae, ribs, and limb bones. The fossils suggest that it was a large and powerful predator, estimated to have been around 10 meters (33 feet) long and weighing approximately 5,500 kg (12,100 lbs).
The name Meraxes comes from the dragon in the fictional world of A Song of Ice and Fire, as the researchers who named the dinosaur were fans of the series. The species name, incredibilis, means "incredible" in Latin, and refers to the remarkable size and features of the dinosaur.
Meraxes is believed to have lived about 90 million years ago, during the late Cretaceous period. It was a member of the family Carcharodontosauridae, which includes some of the largest predatory dinosaurs known, such as Giganotosaurus and Tyrannotitan.
