PNSO Zaha the Dunkleosteus Review:
PNSO has impressed me with this model. The body has beautiful musculature and attention to fine details that is eccntuated by a wonderful paint job. My all time favorite Dunkleasteus figure from any manufacturer. With articulated jaws (limited movement on the jaw however) allowing the mouth to open and close. When the mouth is opened the head slides forward revealing the pink, soft flesh below. It is a great detail that adds to the overall value of such a nice figure. Truly a work of art from design to production.
Dunkleosteus Facts:
The name Dunkleosteus is derived from "two edged knife" and "tooth". is an extinct genus of large armored, jawed fishes that existed during the Late Devonian period, about 382-358 million years ago. They were some of the first jawed fish. With heads and thorax covered in large articulated plates and bodies naked or covered in scales. Placoderms were also the first fish to develop pelvic fins, the precursor to hindlimbs in tetrapods, as well as true teeth. The oldest known live births can be linked to some placoderms. Dunkleosteus terrelli was one of the largest placoderm and grew to 20 feet in length and is presumed to have had a large distribution, as its remains have been found in Europe, North America and possibly Morocco. Some paleontologists regard it as the world's first vertebrate "superpredator", preying upon other predators.
Scientific reconstruction sculpture for display. NOT A TOY.
High detailed, realistic and exquisite.
