PNSO Perez the Machairoceratops measures: 3" H x 1.4" W x 6.5" L.
The Machairoceratops, from the Late Cretaceous period, was first discovered in North America. This ceratopsid is notable for its distinctive features, including its long, saber-like horns, which protrude from the sides of its head, and its prominent frill. These horns, along with other ceratopsid characteristics such as a beak-like mouth and robust body, distinguish the Machairoceratops from other ceratopsids. The scientific community believes that its horns could have been used in mating displays, territorial defense, or combat with rivals, though the exact use remains a subject of debate among paleontologists.
The Machairoceratops, part of the larger ceratopsid family, was a herbivore, feeding on a variety of plants in its ecosystem. Its large size, coupled with its armor-like frill and horns, would have made it a formidable creature within its environment, though it likely had few natural predators due to its size and strength.
