Its name, meaning "Tuo River lizard," reflects its discovery near the Tuo River in Sichuan Province. This herbivorous dinosaur is one of the best-known stegosaurs from Asia and provides important insights into the diversity and evolution of this group.Tuojiangosaurus was a medium-sized stegosaurid, measuring about 23 feet (7 meters) in length and weighing approximately 4 tons.
Like other members of its family, it was characterized by its small head, long neck, and low-slung body supported by four sturdy legs.
