PNSO Audrey The Lambeosaurus figure features white paint over green "grid" body paint makes this figure "pop." Orange crest is outstanding.
The PNSO Audrey The Lambeosaurus is a top-notch figure from PNSO. Figure is well balanced on all 4 legs. Thin front legs really give unique look. Best feature is the overall paint job. Green base. White grid lines are well applied over the top of the green base. Orange streak along the back ridge complements the orange crest. Most of the model is a flat paint, but the black and orange on the crest are glossy - great contrast. Audrey the Lambeosaurus is one of our favorite PNSO figures.
PNSO Audrey The Lambeosaurus measures: 9.75" L x 4" T.
Lambeosaurus was a genus of herbivorous dinosaurs belonging to the hadrosaurid family, commonly referred to as "duck-billed dinosaurs." It lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 75–76 million years ago, and its fossils have been discovered primarily in North America. The name Lambeosaurus, meaning "Lambe's lizard," was given in honor of Canadian paleontologist Lawrence Lambe, who first studied its remains in 1902.
One of the most distinguishing features of Lambeosaurus is its cranial crest. Unlike many other crested hadrosaurs, such as Parasaurolophus, the crest of Lambeosaurus was uniquely shaped, resembling a hatchet or a hollow dome. Scientists believe this crest played a significant role in communication, possibly amplifying sounds for vocalization, much like a modern-day wind instrument. It may have also served as a visual display for attracting mates or establishing dominance within a herd.
