They were members of the Ornithischian group, which was characterized by their bird-like hips and herbivorous diet. Iguanodon was one of the first dinosaur species to be discovered and described, contributing significantly to our understanding of dinosaurs in the early days of paleontology.

Size: Iguanodon was a large dinosaur, with some species reaching lengths of up to 10 meters (33 feet) and heights of around 4 meters (13 feet). They weighed several tons.
Bipedal Locomotion: Iguanodon was primarily a bipedal dinosaur, meaning it walked on its hind legs. However, it is believed that they could also adopt a quadrupedal stance by walking on all fours, using their hands as well as their feet.
