Papo Octopus #56013 Review:

The Papo Octopus figurine is an impressive representation of this intelligent and fascinating creature. The figurine's primarily brown color is nicely accented by some color variations and texture on the upper body, adding visual interest. The texture of the upper body is relatively smooth. The legs that are a mix of tight curls and some extended legs, giving the figurine an overall dynamic appearance.

The suckers on the underside of the legs are of a high relief, making them stand out. The off-white/tan color of the suckers provides excellent contrast to the brown color of the body, adding to the figurine's overall visual appeal.

Octopus Information:

Octopuses are a captivating species that belong to the cephalopod family, which also includes squids and cuttlefish. With their remarkable camouflage abilities, unique physical appearance, and intelligence, octopuses are among the most fascinating creatures in the ocean. These creatures have eight tentacles with suction cups that they use to navigate the ocean floor and catch their prey.

Octopuses are highly intelligent creatures with large brains and complex nervous systems, exhibiting problem-solving skills, tool usage, and playful behavior. This has made them popular subjects for study among researchers worldwide.

One of the most remarkable features of octopuses is their ability to alter the color and texture of their skin to blend in with their surroundings. This is achieved through the use of specialized skin cells called chromatophores, which can rapidly change color and texture. This ability allows octopuses to disappear or mimic other animals, making them masters of disguise.

Octopuses also exhibit intriguing mating behaviors. After laying her eggs, the female octopus will guard them until they hatch, during which time she will not eat and will eventually die, sacrificing herself to protect her offspring.
