Concavenator is a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period, approximately 130 million years ago. It was discovered in the Las Hoyas fossil site in Spain, and its name, which means "hump-backed hunter," reflects its most distinctive feature: a pair of tall neural spines in front of the hips, forming a hump or small sail.
Concavenator belonged to the Carcharodontosauridae family, a group of large carnivorous dinosaurs. It measured around 20 feet in length and is estimated to have weighed about 2 tons. The structure of its limbs and tail suggests it was a fast and agile predator, capable of pursuing and capturing prey effectively.
The Papo Concavenator is part of the Dinosaur Series by Papo.
