Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years.
The Papo Cryolophosaurus figure showcases the Cryolophosaurus’ most recognizable trait: the unusual crest on its head. The front crest is sculpted in great detail, reflecting its fan-like shape, which scientists believe may have been used for display or species recognition.
The body of the figure is lean yet muscular, with strong legs indicating its capability as a fast and agile predator. The textured skin gives the Cryolophosaurus a camouflaged appearance that would have helped it blend into its environment. The long tail is balanced, and the arms are positioned in a dynamic stance, with sharp claws ready for action. The open mouth, with visible sharp teeth, adds to the figure’s fierce and predatory look.
The Papo Cryolophosaurus measures approximately in inches:
5.5 L x 5 H.
Cryolophosaurus is a genus of large theropod dinosaur known from only a single species Cryolophosaurus ellioti, from the early Jurassic of Antarctica. It was about 21.3 ft long and 1,025 lb in weight, making it one of the largest theropods of its time. Individuals of this species may have grown even larger, because the only known specimen probably represents a sub-adult. Cryolophosaurus possessed a distinctive "pompadour" crest that spanned the head from side to side. Based on evidence from related species and studies of bone texture, it is thought that this bizarre crest was used for intra-species recognition. The brain of Cryolophosaurus was also more primitive than those of other theropods.
