Papo Forest Animals - Doe #53014
3+ Years
Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years.
This figure is only called a DOE, not a white-tailed doe. Tail is down so cannot see if it is the trademarked white. A fine female deer figure from Papo.
The Papo Doe #53014 measures: 3.75" L x 3.75" T.
This model is just called a "doe" - not a white tailed doe. Tail is relaxed down so we cannot see if the underside is actually white. The underbelly is also not white - instead a lighter shade of brown, providing a subtle contrast to the rest of the coat. The ears are alert, and the eyes are slightly overpainted / googly-eyed. Overall a fine figure from Papo.
A doe is a female white-tailed deer. They are similar in appearance to male white-tailed deer, or bucks, but tend to be smaller and lack antlers. Instead, they have a rounded head and a slender body, and are generally brownish-gray in color, with a white underbelly.
Does are important to the survival and reproduction of their species, as they are responsible for carrying and giving birth to fawns. During the mating season, or rut, bucks will compete for access to breeding females, with the strongest and most dominant males typically winning the opportunity to mate.
Doe deer are generally more social than bucks, and can be found in groups known as herds. These herds are typically composed of a group of does and their offspring, and are led by a dominant female. Does will often help each other care for their young, and will also work together to protect themselves from predators.
