The arctic wolf is a subspecies of the gray wolf that lives in the Arctic tundra of North America and Greenland. This majestic species is known for its white fur, which helps camouflage it in its icy habitat. Arctic wolf cubs are born in April and May, usually in litters of four to eight pups. Arctic wolf cubs are born with thick white fur to keep them warm in the cold environment. They are dependent on their mother for food, warmth and protection for the first few months of their lives. During this time, the cubs will stay with their mother and siblings in a den and slowly start to explore their environment.
At around three weeks of age, the pups begin to move around and develop their social skills. They will play with their littermates, exploring their den and the surrounding area. During this time, they will learn important survival skills, such as how to hunt and defend themselves. At around six weeks of age, the cubs will start to venture out of the den and explore further afield. They will be under the close supervision of their mother, who will protect them and teach them important life lessons.
