Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years.
The Papo Impala figure stands in a poised, dynamic stance, with its head slightly raised and legs positioned as if standing alert, capturing the impala's characteristic agility and readiness to leap. The smooth, slender body of the figure is sculpted to reflect the lean musculature and athletic build of the impala, making it appear both strong and light.
The coat is painted with smooth tan and brown hues, accurately mimicking the impala’s natural coloration, while the underbelly and throat feature lighter tones, adding contrast and realism. The most striking detail is the elegantly curved, ridged horns, which rise symmetrically from the impala’s head, a key characteristic of the males of the species.
The Papo Impala Figure measures approximately 4''T.
The impala is a medium-sized antelope commonly found in the savannas and woodlands of eastern and southern Africa. Known for their incredible agility and grace, impalas are capable of jumping heights of up to 10 feet and can leap as far as 33 feet in a single bound. These leaps, combined with their speed, make them highly adapted to escaping predators such as lions, leopards, and wild dogs. Impalas have a sleek, reddish-brown coat with a lighter underbelly, which helps them blend into their environment while foraging for grass, leaves, and fruits.
One of the impala’s most distinctive features is the long, lyre-shaped horns found in males. These horns can grow up to 36 inches in length and are used in displays of dominance and territorial fights during the mating season. Females and young impalas, on the other hand, are hornless, relying on their speed and agility to evade danger. Impalas are social animals, often living in large herds for protection, with bachelor groups of males and mixed-sex herds led by a dominant male.
