The Papo African Elephant Baby figure stands out because of its unique pose with its turned head, which is made even more special by the addition of small tusks located by the mouth.

The Papo African Elephant Baby #50169 measures: 3" L x 2" T.

Papo African Elephant Baby #50169 Review:

Papo has this Baby African Elephant Model and a Young African Elephant Model - this is the Baby Model.

This is a very cute figure, with a great pose. Head is turned as if looking for something. With the head turned, the ear positioning is appropriate with one ear close to the body and one sticking out. Trunk has a nice curl at the end.

Standout pose is augmented by the small tusks by the mouth. Most baby elephant figures do not have any tusks – this one does.

The skin is not as saggy as on some of the other models, but texture looks and feels appropriate.

This is the darkest grey coloring of any of the Baby African Elephant models.

African Elephant Baby Information:

African elephant babies, also known as calves, are some of the most adorable animals on earth. These little ones are born after a gestation period of around 22 months, which is the longest of any land animal. At birth, they weigh up to 120 kilograms, which is no small feat considering that a female elephant only weighs around 3,000 to 4,000 kilograms as an adult.

African elephant babies are covered in reddish-brown fur, which eventually fades to a darker color as they grow older. They also have long, wrinkled trunks that they use to suckle from their mothers and explore their surroundings. These trunks are not only used for feeding, but also for socializing, drinking, and expressing emotions such as comfort and affection.

Unfortunately, African elephants face many threats, including habitat loss and poaching. It's estimated that the African elephant population has declined by over 30% in the past few decades, making conservation efforts more important than ever. By protecting these magnificent creatures, we can ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy the wonder of the African elephant baby for years to come.
