Papo Roaring Lion #50157
3+ Years
Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years.
There are many choices of Roaring Male Lions - this version from Papo stands SLIGHLTY taller than some of the alternatives with its head positioned higher.
The Papo Roaring Lion #50157 measures: 5.25" L x 3.5" T.
The Papo Roaring Lion figure is posed in a dynamic stance, with its mouth wide open in a fearsome roar, showcasing its sharp teeth and powerful jaws. The sculpting brings the lion to life with intricate detailing on its muscular body, representing the lion’s strength and agility. The mane is depicted with texture and volume, giving it a wild, untamed appearance.
The figure is painted in natural hues, with shades of tan and brown across the body, while the mane is darker, mimicking the lion’s natural coloration. The eyes are alert and intense, emphasizing the lion’s fierce expression. Every aspect of this figure, from the positioning of its paws to the fine details of the fur, captures the lion in mid-action, as if ready to pounce or defend its territory.
There are several choices of Roaring Lion toy figures. This version from Papo is worth serious consideration. We were lukewarm on this figure until we looked at some of the other choices. We like this figure better now. Figure stands slightly taller as it is roaring with its head up. Body and face are well done - we would like to see the mouth open a little wider. Overall a solid choice.
The lion's roar is one of the most iconic and recognizable sounds in the animal kingdom. It is a deep, powerful, and intimidating sound that can be heard from up to five miles away. It is often used as a way of claiming territory and advertising the presence of a particular lion or pride.
The roaring of a lion is usually done by the males, as a way of protecting their pride and warning other animals away. A male lion's roar is often accompanied by a display of dominance such as a head-bobbing or a swatting at the ground with its paw. When a lion roars, it is often followed by a series of other vocalizations such as growls, snorts, and other sounds.
The sound of a lion's roar is created by vibrations of the vocal cords and air being expelled from the lungs. It is a very loud sound, often reaching up to 114 decibels. This is equivalent to the sound of a jet flying overhead, and is loud enough to be heard up to five miles away.
