Papo Griffin Knight Review:
New in 2022. Of the Lion Knight, Unicorn Knight, and Griffin knight introduced in 2022, the Griffin Knight is our favorite of the 3. All three are fine knights. We like the larger shield and sword on this figure. Armor is crisply designed and shiny. This knight is meant to be paired with the Griffin Knight Horse (#39955).
Papo Griffin Knight Information:
Griffin Knights were a type of military order established during the Middle Ages in Europe. They were a group of Christian knights who swore allegiance to the Church and were sent on religious crusades. They were known for their bravery and strength in battle, and their commitment to defending their faith and protecting those in need.
The name "Griffin" comes from their symbol, a griffin, which is a mythical creature with the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion. This symbol represented their strength, courage, and devotion to their cause. The Knights of the Griffin were renowned for their discipline and loyalty; they followed a strict code of conduct that included loyalty to their lord, respect for the Church, and courage in battle. They often wore distinctive armor, helmets, and banners that bore the image of the griffin.
The Knights of the Griffin were a major force in medieval warfare, and their exploits were legendary. They were involved in many battles and campaigns, including the Crusades. They were also known for their contributions to the development of chivalry and knightly ideals, such as courtly love, honor, and courage.
Like most of the Papo figures, the Griffin Knight is designed to both stand on his own or to ride a horse.
