The Mojo Rhinoceros Calf Sitting figure measures approx: 2.3 L x 2.2 H x 1.1 W inches.
Rhinoceros calves are the young of one of the largest and most iconic land mammals on the planet. Born after a lengthy gestation period of around 15 to 18 months, a rhinoceros calf typically weighs between 88 to 140 pounds at birth, depending on the species. Despite their large size at birth, they are relatively small and vulnerable compared to their massive mothers, who can weigh up to several tons.
The early life of a rhinoceros calf is characterized by rapid growth and development. Within hours of birth, a calf can stand and begin to suckle from its mother. This early mobility is crucial for its survival, as it needs to keep up with the mother in the wild. The mother rhino is highly protective of her calf, keeping it close and defending it fiercely against potential predators, such as lions, hyenas, and even humans.
