The Mojo Entelodont Daeodon figure captures the fierce and robust nature of the Daeodon, often referred to as "hell pigs" or "terminator pigs." The figure stands in an aggressive stance, with its massive jaws slightly open, displaying its fearsome teeth.
The body is portrayed with a powerful and muscular build, reflecting the animal's strength and predatory prowess. The skin texture is detailed to give a rough, leathery appearance, and the coloration is realistic, with shades of dark grey and black that would have helped the Daeodon blend into its environment. The head is large with pronounced cheekbones and bony protrusions, capturing the distinct and somewhat grotesque features of the entelodont.
The Mojo Entelodont Daeodon figure measures: 5" long by 2.9" tall.
Daeodon is an extinct genus of large, omnivorous mammals that roamed North America during the late Oligocene to early Miocene epochs, approximately 29 to 19 million years ago. Often referred to as "hell pigs" or "terminator pigs" due to their formidable appearance and predatory behavior, Daeodons were among the largest and most fearsome entelodonts.
Daeodon stood about 6 feet tall at the shoulder and could weigh over 1,000 pounds, making it a dominant force in its ecosystem. Its most striking feature was its large, elongated skull, which could reach up to 3 feet in length. The skull was equipped with massive jaws and a set of fearsome teeth, including large, tusk-like canines that were well-suited for both hunting and scavenging. The robust structure of the skull, along with the presence of bony protrusions on the cheeks and jaws, gave Daeodon a menacing and somewhat grotesque appearance.
The body of Daeodon was muscular and powerful, supported by strong, sturdy limbs that allowed for quick and agile movement. This physical prowess enabled Daeodon to be both an effective predator and a formidable scavenger, capable of overpowering other animals and competing for carcasses. Its diet likely consisted of a variety of foods, including meat, roots, tubers, and possibly even smaller animals, showcasing its omnivorous nature.
