3+ Years
Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years.
The Mojo Deinotherium figure captures the imposing stature and distinctive features of the Deinotherium, an ancient relative of modern elephants. Standing in a dynamic pose, the figure highlights the creature's massive body, robust limbs and a strong, muscular build.
The skin texture is detailed with a realistic, rough surface, reflecting the thick hide typical of large mammals.
The most striking feature of the Deinotherium, its downward-curving tusks, are prominently displayed, emerging from the lower jaw and curving towards the ground. This Mojo figure offers a glimpse into the prehistoric creatures that once roamed the Earth.
The Mojo Deinotherium figure measures: 7" long by 4" tall.
Deinotherium's most distinctive feature is its pair of downward-curving tusks, which set it apart from other proboscideans. Unlike the tusks of modern elephants that emerge from the upper jaw, Deinotherium's tusks protruded from the lower jaw, giving it a unique and somewhat formidable appearance.
The name "Deinotherium" translates to "terrible beast," a fitting description given its size and the probable impact it had on its environment. These animals were among the largest land mammals of their time, with some species estimated to have stood over 4 meters (13 feet) tall at the shoulder and weighed up to 14 tons. Despite their size and fearsome tusks, Deinotheriums were herbivores, primarily feeding on leaves, bark, and other plant materials. Their tusks likely played a role in foraging, such as stripping bark from trees or digging for roots.
