The head features a long, narrow snout lined with teeth, indicating its carnivorous diet. The figure's posture is dynamic, with its upper body crouched but with its tail extended for balance, a common trait among theropod dinosaurs.
The skin texture is textured to resemble the feathered skin, adding to the realism of the figure. The body coloration is earth-toned, with bright orangish / reddish accents on the arms, legs, head and tail.
The Mojo Deinonychus Figure measures 12.5" long by 6" tall.
Deinonychus, meaning "terrible claw," is a genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived during the Cretaceous period, approximately 115 to 108 million years ago. It is renowned for its relatively large size compared to other dromaeosaurids, measuring up to 11 feet in length and standing about 6 feet tall. Deinonychus is notable for its distinctive features, which include a large curved claw on each hind foot, suggesting a specialized adaptation for grasping and slashing prey.
The anatomy of Deinonychus is adapted for active hunting and agility. It possessed a sleek, slender body with strong hind limbs that enabled it to run at high speeds, likely pursuing small to medium-sized prey such as reptiles, mammals, and possibly even young dinosaurs. Its arms were equipped with smaller claws, which, along with its powerful jaws filled with serrated teeth, allowed it to subdue and consume its prey.
