Stegosaurus: A Jurassic Herbivore
Stegosaurus was a large, herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 150 to 145 million years ago. It is most recognizable for its distinctive double row of bony plates running along its back. These plates, which varied in size and shape, are believed to have served multiple purposes, including thermoregulation, defense, and display. The Stegosaurus also possessed a spiked tail, known as a "thagomizer," which it likely used to deter predators. Despite its large size, Stegosaurus had a relatively small brain.
