The Haolonggood Edmontosaurus - Pei Xuan model presents a vivid and detailed depiction of the Late Cretaceous hadrosaur. The Pei Xuan version Edmontosaurus is characterized by its brownish / orangish color with subtle detailing that captures the dinosaur's skin texture and musculature. Key anatomical features like the duck-billed snout, indicative of its herbivorous diet, and the fleshy comb on its head, are well-represented.
The Pei Xuan figure subtly hints at comb with its head sculpting, offering collectors a glimpse into one of paleontology's intriguing mysteries. This feature, if present in life, might have been used for display, thermoregulation, or species recognition.
The figure stands in a quadrupedal pose, reflecting the natural stance of this dinosaur, with a carefully sculpted tail and limbs that suggest a sense of movement and realism. Overall a good looking model.
The Haolonggood Edmontosaurus - Xiao Rang measures approx: 10.6" L x 1.7" W x 3.1" H
Edmontosaurus is one of the most well-known hadrosaurs, which roamed North America during the Late Cretaceous period, around 73 to 66 million years ago. Known for its impressive size, reaching lengths of up to 40 feet, Edmontosaurus was one of the largest ornithopods.
There is an ongoing debate about the presence and function of a soft-tissue comb on the head of Edmontosaurus. While no direct fossil evidence confirms this feature universally across all Edmontosaurus, some specimens like the "dinosaur mummy" NDGS 2000 suggest the possibility.
