Alamosaurus - Mu Hong Review:

Mu Hong the Alamosaurus has a purple, grey, orange and brown splotched hide. The wrinkles and thick rolls of the hide are realistic, and it is in a walking pose too. There is some orange coloration on the head and tail of the beast. The wrinkles and thick rolls of the hide are realistic, and it is in a walking pose too. Included is a dead tree which magnetically attaches to the base platform. It is quite nice with plants, moss, rocks and water detail making it appear real. A tiny little pterosaur is also inside and may be placed on the tree.

Alamosaurus Information:

Alamosaurus is a genus of sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 70 to 66 million years ago. It belonged to the family of titanosaurian sauropods, which were known for their large size and long necks. Here are some key points about Alamosaurus:

  1. Discovery and Name: Alamosaurus was first discovered in the Ojo Alamo Formation of New Mexico, United States, in 1921. It was named after the area where it was found.

  2. Size: Alamosaurus was one of the largest known sauropods. Estimates of its length vary, but it is believed to have been around 60 to 70 feet long. Its weight is estimated to have been several tons.

  3. Physical Characteristics: Like other sauropods, Alamosaurus had a long neck and tail, a small head relative to its body size, and a large body supported by four sturdy legs. Its neck was adapted for browsing vegetation at high levels.

  4. Habitat: Alamosaurus lived in what is now North America, specifically in the western regions of the continent. It inhabited a variety of environments, including forests, plains, and possibly coastal regions.

  5. Diet: As a herbivorous dinosaur, Alamosaurus would have primarily fed on plants, using its long neck to reach vegetation high above the ground. It likely consumed ferns, conifers, and other types of vegetation available in its habitat.

  6. Behavior: Alamosaurus, like other sauropods, was probably a social animal that lived in herds or groups. This behavior would have provided protection against predators and facilitated finding food.

  7. Extinction: Alamosaurus, along with many other dinosaur species, became extinct around 66 million years ago during the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event, which wiped out non-avian dinosaurs and many other forms of life on Earth.

I've watched some reviews about this model but I was definitely not expecting it to be this big and heavy in person. I can just tell this model is definitely high quality and very well made. Overall, my experience with Happy Hen Toys have been absolutely amazing and I will definitely return to buy more.
