Lisowicia bojani is a remarkable species because of its large size, surpassing that of most other dicynodonts and even some of the early sauropod dinosaurs. It belonged to a group of herbivorous synapsids that were distant relatives of mammals and played an important role in terrestrial ecosystems during the Triassic Period.
Lisowicia bojani was discovered in Poland in 2017, and its fossils have provided valuable insights into the diversity and evolution of Triassic tetrapods. Its large size challenges previous assumptions about the dominance of dinosaurs during the Late Triassic and highlights the complexity of terrestrial ecosystems during this period.
