Great looking combination of branch and woodpecker. Model is a one piece unit - the branch cannot be separated from the bird. Both branch and bird are well done. Branch has multiple spots of damage where the woodpecker has been working on the branch. Branch stands upright on a flattened end.
Woodpecker itself is also well done. Nice feather details are accented by the white paint application on the back. Red crest and orange beak really catch the eye. Overall a great Woodpecker model.
Ivory-Billed Woodpeckers were once considered one of the largest woodpecker species in the world, with a wingspan of up to 30 inches (76 cm). They were primarily found in old-growth forests, where they foraged for insects by drumming on tree bark and probing for prey with their long bills.
