Gigantospinosaurus, means "giant spined lizard." Gigantospinosaurus is notable for its large, outward-pointing shoulder spines, which are among the most distinctive features of this dinosaur.
The body of Gigantospinosaurus is characterized by a relatively small head, a bulky body, and a series of plates and spikes along its back and tail. However, unlike other stegosaurs, the plates along the back of Gigantospinosaurus were smaller and less pronounced.
The most striking feature of this dinosaur was the pair of large spines that extended outward from its shoulders. These spines were much larger than those of other stegosaurs and likely served as a defense mechanism against predators. The presence of these massive spines suggests that Gigantospinosaurus may have been a formidable opponent for any predator attempting to attack it.
