Daedon is an extinct pig-like omnivore that roamed North America. Often colloquially known as "hell pigs" or "terminator pigs," these creatures were among the largest entelodonts, with an estimated height of around 6 feet at the shoulder and a length of about 12 feet.
One of the most distinctive features of Daeodon is its massive head, which could measure over 3 feet in length. The skull of the Daeodon was equipped with large, robust jaws and prominent tusks, which were likely used for both defense and foraging. These tusks, along with strong, sharp teeth, suggest that Daeodon was an omnivore with a diet that included plants, carrion, and possibly even small to medium-sized animals. The large cheekbones provided attachment points for powerful jaw muscles, indicating that Daeodon had a very strong bite.
The body of Daeodon was equally formidable, characterized by a robust and muscular build. Its limbs were long and sturdy, supporting the theory that Daeodon was a capable runner, which would have been advantageous for both hunting and scavenging.
