Walrus calves are the offspring of adult Walruses and are born on ice floes or rocky shores in the Arctic Ocean. They are born with a thick layer of blubber to insulate them from the cold Arctic waters and are dependent on their mothers for nourishment and protection.
Walruses are highly adapted for life in the Arctic environment, with features such as their large tusks, which are used for defense, cutting through ice, and hauling themselves out of the water onto ice floes.
