River Hogs are known as the Bush Pigs or African Forest Hogs. This species is native to the forests and savannas of West and Central Africa, where it inhabits a variety of habitats, including dense woodlands, grasslands, and swampy areas.
These hogs are omnivorous and feed on a varied diet that includes roots, tubers, fruits, nuts, insects, and small vertebrates. They are primarily active during the early morning and late afternoon, foraging for food either alone or in small family groups consisting of females and their offspring.
