Alamosaurus was a genus of titanosaurian sauropod that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 69 to 66 million years ago.
Alamosaurus was a large Titanosaur. It probably had a heavily scaled skin and may have had a scatter of small armour plates embedded in it, although none have been found.
Like other sauropods, Alamosaurus was a herbivore, using its elongated neck to reach vegetation high above the ground. Its massive size would have allowed it to consume vast quantities of plants to sustain its energy needs.
