The CollectA African Buffalo has the most unique pose of any of the available African Buffalo figures. Head is lower than rump and head is twisted as if startled during drinking. Slight variations in the brown colors but generally is a solid brown color. Overall a very nice figure from CollectA.
The African Buffalo is a large, sturdy, and powerful bovine that is native to the African continent. African Buffalos are social creatures and live in herds of up to several hundred individuals. The members of the herd communicate through lowing, bellowing, and a variety of other vocalizations. African Buffalos are grazers, eating a variety of grasses, as well as herbs, shrubs, and even scavenging the remains of other animals.
African Buffalos have a unique appearance, with their massive heads and curved horns. Their horns are used for protection against predators, and they also use them in displays of dominance within the herd. Males are larger than females and can weigh up to 1000 kg. These animals have a thick, gray-brown hide and are covered with short, coarse hair. They have a large hump on their shoulders, which is composed of muscle and fat for energy storage.
