Lufengosaurus, meaning "Lufeng lizard," lived during the Early Jurassic period, approximately 190 to 180 million years ago, in what is now China.
Lufengosaurus had much longer hindlimbs than those at the front of the animal and was quite capable of becoming bipedal when in search of food or if attacked.
Lufengosaurus is believed to have been a primarily herbivorous dinosaur, feeding on a variety of plants and foliage. Its long neck and small head would have allowed it to reach high into the trees to access leaves and other vegetation, making it well-adapted to its herbivorous lifestyle.
