Velociraptor, meaning "swift thief," was a small, carnivorous dinosaur that lived approximately 75 million years ago in what is now Mongolia and China. Despite its portrayal in popular culture, Velociraptor was actually much smaller than depicted, roughly the size of a turkey. It was a fast and agile predator, likely hunting in packs to bring down larger prey.
Velociraptor had long hands with eagle-like talons and each foot was equipped with a curved killing claw, which it used for puncturing its victims' throats.
