The Poison Dart Azureus Frog - also known as the blue poison dart frog, is native to the rainforests of Suriname and parts of Brazil. It is known for its brilliant blue skin, which is covered in black spots, making it one of the most visually striking poison dart frogs. Like other poison dart frogs, the azureus secretes toxins through its skin as a defense mechanism, though in captivity, they lose their toxicity due to changes in diet. These small amphibians are diurnal, active during the day, and feed on small insects like ants and termites. Their bold coloration serves as a warning to predators of their toxic nature.
