The red-eyed tree frog is a brightly colored amphibian native to the rainforests of Central America. Known for its vivid red eyes, green body, and blue and yellow flanks, it uses its bright colors as a defense mechanism to startle predators. Red-eyed tree frogs are nocturnal, spending their days resting on the underside of leaves and becoming active at night to hunt insects. They are skilled climbers with adhesive pads on their toes, allowing them to navigate through the forest canopy. Although their striking appearance suggests danger, they are not toxic, relying instead on their agility and camouflage to evade threats.
