The hippopotamus is one of the largest land mammals, native to sub-Saharan Africa. Despite its bulky appearance and short legs, hippos are surprisingly fast and spend much of their time in water to keep cool. Hippos are semi-aquatic and have adapted well to life in rivers and lakes, with eyes, ears, and nostrils positioned on top of their heads, allowing them to stay mostly submerged. They are herbivores but are known for their territorial and aggressive behavior, especially when threatened. Bullyland’s Hippopotamus figure captures the essence of this massive and fascinating creature.
