The species name "sullivani" honors the American paleontologist J.P. Sullivan, who contributed significantly to the study of dinosaurs in Alberta, Canada.
Size and Characteristics: Saurornitholestes was a small dinosaur, measuring about 1.2 to 1.5 meters (4 to 5 feet) in length and standing about 60 to 90 centimeters (2 to 3 feet) tall at the hip.
