Best Acrocanthosaurus Toy Figure: Papo Acrocanthosaurus #55062
A run-away, easy victory for the Papo Acrocanthosaurus – the best Acrocanthosaurus available.
Size: The Papo Acrocanthosaurus measures:11.5” L x 5.75” H.
Product Highlights: Paint was updated in 2018 – and Papo did a great job. Great light brown base, well applied camo spots, and beady yellow eye. Low, crouching form looks ready to attack. Moveable jaw on a well shaped and painted head.
Drawbacks:
None noted. Great figure – Easy winner of best Acrocanthosaurus award.
Best Value: Safari Ltd. Acrocanthosaurus #302329
The Safari Ltd. Acrocanthosaurus is a lower cost figure and a good value for the price.
Size: The Safari Ltd. Acrocanthosaurus measures: 7.5” L x 3.25” H.
Product Highlights:
This is a good value figure if you are looking for a less expensive alternative to the Papo Acrocanthosaurus. Head sculpt is good (eyes could be painted brighter). Red mouth really pops.
Drawbacks:
Jaw does not move. Basic (but fine) paint job.
Unique Acrocanthosaurus Figure: Schleich Acrocanthosaurus #14584
The Schleich Acrocanthosaurus has a unique look relative to the other Acrocanthosaurus figures available.
Size: The Schleich Acrocanthosaurus measures: 10” L x 5.5” H.
Product Highlights:
This is a solid figure from Schleich. Head has good details – jaw opens and closes, shiny eye has a good paint on it. Paint is well applied. Overall a solid figure worth serious consideration.
Drawbacks:
We struggle with this figure. Jaw opens, but does not have a great range of motion. The teeth are large, but are more rounded than we would expect on an Acrocanthosaurus. The head is more “rounded” than other more “pointed-faced” models. Good figure – just different.
Not Rated Model:
The CollectA 88718 is being discontinued by CollectA. We are almost (or may already be) out of stock on this item, so we are not going to do a complete review. Typically is the highest priced model. We greatly prefer the Papo Acrocanthosaurus to this figure. If you are reading this – look at the Papo figure instead.
Toy Acrocanthosaurus Review Conclusion:
The Papo Acrocanthosaurus is the easy winner for best overall. Not even close. The Safari Ltd. figure is acceptable – especially when you factor in its price point.
